Dear Patients and Readers,
Welcome to a brand new album review by me. This time around I thought it was time to review something else that I normally wouldn’t review. This time it is time for Block B. This is not only my first Block B review, but also the first time I will listen to an entire Block B album. The name of the album is ‘’Blooming Period’’. Forgive me for not knowing all the members.
1. A Few Years Later
This song was so different from what I am used to when listening to a Block B song. However, I was very surprised and entertained. I think this kind of music really suits them. It also happens to be the kind of music that I really love so it really hit the spot. I feel like Block B is experimenting with their sound. Just like when they came out with ‘’Her’’, it is very different from their past releases. I especially like the rap in this song. It seamlessly fits into the song. In my ears this was a great success!
The beat of this song mixed with the amazing vocals make this song stand out! I feel like they put a lot of effort into creating this song. To me it sounds so different from the regular boy group releases in K-pop. It almost feels like a soundtrack to a movie. A song that is played when the credits are rolling. The only awkward thing about this is the sentence ‘’All you need is me, I’m your toy’’, which could be interpreted the wrong way ㅋㅋㅋ.
3. It Was Love (Taeil Solo)
I was looking forward to this song the most because Taeil is my bias. And for a reason. His voice to me is one of the most beautiful voices in K-pop. Yet again he made me feel like I was in heaven for a few minutes. There is something special about his voice and the songs that he releases solo. They are always so magically well composed and sung. I don’t have anything more to say that I am in love with his voice and with his solo songs. I am expecting an album in the future! I heard this was a cover of F(x)’s Luna’s song. It was written by Zico. They need to write him more ballads.
4. Walking in the Rain
Compared to the previous songs, this one seems less special for some reason. However, I still think it’s a good song. What’s good about it is that it is an easygoing song that is easy to listen to and it has a catchy chorus. It definitely adds up to all the other amazing tracks of this album. The melody sounds very appealing to me.
5. Bingle Bingle (B-Bomb, U-Kwon)
When this song started out I knew this would be a very hip-hop inspired track. It sounds amazing to be honest. This really is a bop and it makes you want to get up and dance. The bridge of this song really fits the vibe and I actually don’t have anything to complain about. There is nothing wrong or off about this song. It sounds good and I think I will listen to it again!
The entire album consists of great songs and I barely have anything negative to say about it. The vocals were on point. The instrumentals were on point and the composition of the album is on point. I would honestly give this album a big 8,5! Below you will be able to watch their Music Video's.
This was another album review by Dr. Hallyu! I hope you enjoyed it and that you will tune in again next time! Please don’t be afraid to state your own opinions in the comments and I will see you next time!
With the official debut of I.O.I. coming up very soon I thought it would be a good idea to look back on some of the performances of produce 101. As you can imagine this post features all the spoilers, so if you have not watched the show yet go watch it no...
Dear patients and readers, In Korea, being polite is very important. This means you have to know how old someone is, what their status is and how their position compares to yours.
Little bit late this year, but better late than never. Here are my favourite Kpop songs of 2018. You might be quite surprised by some of these songs.
2017 has come to an end. Many great songs were released in the past year. Here are my favourites Kpop songs of 2017.
